| Nogordola introduced Eid collection on the inspiration of folk art |

According to its commitment of providing theme-based product, Nogordola has introduced a new collection of outfits on the inspiration of folk arts of ancient tribes. This kind of folk art reflects the time, place, ritual and psychosocial interactions of different communities. It also represents religious beliefs, fears, strength, love, relief from evil spirit, tragedy etc. This folk art based collection has come together with the other exclusive collection of outfits of Eid festival, which is available at the outlet of Nogordola. Men’s, women’s, children’s wear and household products are included in the series. |

| Nogordola started its journey of design with the commemorative motif of kamrul’s art |

The Creative Centre of Nogordola initially remembered the late renowned artist Quamrul Hassan for his outstanding contribution and unique ideas of design on the context of Bengali culture. Based on his art piece “Harvest”, the design team created some motifs that were used on outfits and household goods of Nogordola. |

It is to be mentioned that, Quamrul Hassan was the founder of the Design Centre of BSCIC, which is considered as the first design studio in Bangladesh. He also designed the Flag of Bangladesh. Quamrul Hassan choose to give the folk art tradition a breath of life by incorporating the modern ideas in it. Hassan was a versatile artist working in practically all media-oil, gouache, watercolors, pastel, etching, woodcut, linocut, pen and pencil. |

| Nogordola launches its new collection of outfits on the inspiration of Islamic Arts |

On the eve of Eid festival Nogordola launched its new collection of men’s and women’s wear on the inspiration of Islamic Arts and heritage. The outfits in the exposition manifested diversity of attractive colors with the influence of Islamic arts. Women’s wear includes attractive salwar-kamiz, sharee, fatua, short-kamiz, pantaloon, top-skirt, punjabi with block print, screen print, and appliqué works. Men’s were covers shirt, fatua and punjabi with block print, screen print, appliqué and glass-beads works. |

Islamic art encompasses the arts produced from the 7th century onwards by people who lived within the territory that was inhabited by culturally Islamic populations. It includes fields as varied as architecture, calligraphy, painting, and ceramics, among others. The Islamic Traditions forbade the use of animal or human figures from religious art. Instead, Islamic artists created rhythmic patterns of script, geometric designs, or abstracted plant and floral forms.One important characteristic of Islamic art, which is unique to the style, is the typical use of a very formal balance. The principles of balance and symmetry are strictly observed. |

| Kalam Kari: Inspiration of men’s and women’s wear |

Nogordola, produced a wide range collection of men’s and women’s wear based on kalam kari, an ancient form of hand painted art. kalam kari is the earliest and more complex technique of block-printing on clothes using natural dyes. It is an art of printing as well as painting. The origin of the word came from kalam or pen and kari or work. kalam kari, traces its origin 3000 years ago. It belongs to India and Iran historically and is still being practiced in South India. |

| Outfits on indigenous inspiration |

Nogordola introduced outfits of rainy season on the inspiration of ethnic design of indigenous people of CHT. The inspiration came from ALAM, traditional textile design by Chakma Ethnic Community. This traditional handloom textile with its colorful design and texture is a pride and part of heritage of the lively and simple indigenous people of CHT whose female members are expert in handloom textile making. Unmarried girls have to demonstrate their skill in handloom textile making at the time of bride Selection. Nogordola selected 16 designs from ALAM for the exposition highlighting a colorful variety of collection for both men’s and women’s and adolescent’s outfit. |
