Founded in 1958 Dhaka Ahsania Mission has now been celebrating its 50th year of operation in 2007. The aim of celebration is to build image capitalizing our pride and past glory; and promotion and strategic partnership development for our ten years programmatic perspective plan.
To mark this celebration a dissemination seminar on ten year programmatic perspective plan was organized for audiences from development organizations at Spectra Convention centre, Gulshan, Dhaka on 10th April, 2007. The President and Chief Executive of DAM, Kazi Rafiqul Alam inaugurated the event and welcomed guests to strengthen development partnership for programmatic perspective plan of DAM.
A dedicated team took responsibility with intensive tasks to prepare various papers, documents, display materials, communication and presentation items on DAM’s program to present to the audience during this event. The significant items produced for this event are:
- A visual presentation on four thematic areas in digital print on poly canvas.
- A visual presentation on 50 years road map of DAM.
- Banner and festoons carrying slogans and messages
- Developed an information pack comprising 11 concept papers, 14 brochures, a profile and annual report on DAM.
- A printed folder highlighting 50 years working with people.
32 Participants from Embassy of Japan, British DFID, DANIDA, European Union, UNDP, UNICEF, CARE Bangladesh, Water Aid, Save the Children Sweden-Denmark, Concern universal, Plan Bangladesh, International Organization of Migration (IOM), BRAC University, Grameen Phone, Commercial Bank of Ceylon and PKSF attended the seminar.
A team from DAM made power point presentation on:
- Profile of DAM including growth and achievements in 50 years.
- Ten year Programmatic Perspective Plan
- Future program endeavor
- Concept papers on four thematic areas.
A question and answer session along with comments from audience were facilitated following each presentation to clarify and obtain their views.
A slot for colorful exhibition on four thematic areas along with video show was organized during this event when the participants and thematic group had opportunity for interaction on their areas of interest.
The event was concluded by a dinner party when gift packs from Nagordola, new venture of DAM for promotion of culture and identity, were distributed among the participant as souvenir of the event.
Following this event, DAM sent information pack to all invited guests from different organization who could not attend the seminar. RMD has now been receiving positive response to discuss about potential cooperation for our perspective plan.
